Introducing the Daily 7

I've been working hard to trade in the #allthethings mentality for a more simplified and intentional way of focusing. Insert the Daily 7, which I shared with my newsletter tribe in February and received such good feedback on. That’s why I’m bringing highlights from the Daily 7 to the blog. This 7 day series was created to help us better cultivate our daily focuses for peace, success and happiness. We all have off days and times where we're pulled in a million directions, but approaching our days and weeks with intentional focuses helps to minimize that. When we can align our daily focuses with what matters to us most, I believe it creates room to have better days on purpose and helps limit time spent on the less important things. Note, this doesn't make each day perfect, but instead more purposeful.

Each day this week, I will share a quick peek into my personal daily 7 (in no particular order). To gain access to the exclusive resources to help you be intentional with your own daily focuses, simply subscribe here. Ok, let's get started!

PRAYER + PEACE

Almost every morning before I get out of the bed, I whisper 3 words – "thank you God". The reality is I will always have a lot to thank God for. The blessing of seeing a new day is one of the things I'm most thankful to God for, along with his unconditional and unwavering love. God is everything.

As I focus on continually strengthening my relationship with God, having a stronger proactive (more than reactive) prayer life is important to me. Just like I don't want people only reaching out to me with requests, I don't want to only come to God when I need something. So I make it a point to pray everyday to express my love and thanks to God, share my prayer requests and ask for his guidance. While I still of course pray during those times of desperate need, it's coupled with those daily talks to renew in his presence, too. One resource that supports my prayer time is my amazing daily devotional (you can find it here), that includes a scripture, inspirational message and short prayer for each day.

Cultivating inner peace is also very important to me, which is why I meditate. Sometimes just for a few minutes, and other times for much longer, especially if it has been a stressful day. I deal with anxiety and wear many hats, so taking time out to breath, center myself and block out the ‘noise’ really helps me. While I often just meditate on my own, I love a good guided meditation, too. For those who have the Peloton bike or app, you might really enjoy the meditations led by Chelsea Jackson Roberts. I also love listening to Deepak Chopra's The Soul of Healing Affirmations sometimes when I meditate (you can listen here). Oh, and speaking of affirmations, there are 10 that I recite most days to affirm what is and what I would like to be – it helps in cultivating both a peaceful and empowered mindset.

Regardless of your spiritual beliefs or personal practices, I hope my sharing today encourages you to nurture your soul and spirit in the ways that are meaningful to you.

TAKE ACTION

While you may come to find that my Daily 7 are focuses we have in common, the goal each day is to cultivate your own daily focuses. With this in mind, each day this week, there will be prompts and action steps to help you minimize the less meaningful and prioritize the most meaningful. Have a glowing day!
