Women's HERstory Spotlight - Candice Owens

Happy Women’s History Month! Women are everything - past, present and future - and celebrating us brings me joy. We deserve our flowers not only this month, but everyday. Cheers to us (just as we are), to our accomplishments, to the strong women who came before us and to the girls coming behind us.

In the spirit of community, I’m creating space for a women’s celebration circle here on the blog starting today through the end of the month! Also, I’m celebrating virtually with the glow getter gang this Friday on Instagram Live, so mark your calendar. Today, I’m kicking it off by spotlighting a fellow boss woman, who is using her unique gifts to inspire and help other women. As I’m shining a light on her, she is also shining a light on other women, too. Learn more about her below.

Share with the glow getter gang a little bit about yourself.

I am an Expert Authority Content Coach and Creative Director. With over ten years in the event planning industry, I was known for creating and curating memorable social experiences for clients. I took the logistics skills, project management and creativity I gained from the event industry, evolved and created CD Creative Loft, helping female coaches, consultants and "done for you" service-based professionals position themselves as Expert Authorities in their industry by leveraging brand images and strategic social media content marketing.

Being a woman of many talents, I'm fueled by a passion to connect with and embrace one’s true self. This is the foundation of my creativity and I strive to reflect it in all that I do. I'm a true wellness and self-love advocate sharing my journey, to inspire others through personal reflections and life lessons. Currently based in Maryland I'm a proud alumna of The Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, Johnson C. Smith University and a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated.

As women, we sometimes don't give ourselves enough credit. However, I want you to take a moment to celebrate yourself. Please share one or more of your wins, or something you're proud of or excited about.

I am truly proud of myself for creating services that are helping women entrepreneurs gain confidence in being the industry experts they are.

I love cheering on and celebrating glow getters - women committed to growth, achieving their goals and glowing from the inside out. Please share the names of at least 2 women who you feel embody what it means to be a glow getter and why.

Anisha Thompson — she seeks out daily ways to add love and light into her life and for others.

Robin Danielle — she goes after her dreams and crushes each goal along the way.

Women's history month is dedicated to celebrating not only women as a whole, but also our contributions that have helped shaped history, society, families and more. With that in mind, share the name of 1 woman you admire and why.

I admire Oprah because she came from humble beginnings but allowed that to propel her and not stop her from living in her greatness.

Show Candice some love in the comments! You can find her online at www.bycandicedenise.com and on Instagram @candicedenise. She was also one of my guests for Fourth Friday’s With Friends, and you can catch the replay of our chat on content creation here.

Have a glowing day!
