Summer Wine Down at These Local Vineyards

This past Saturday, I took a much needed break from quarantine life to relax and recharge at a local vineyard. It was a social distance style outing with the Fab Wives DMV crew. We enjoyed a wonderful afternoon at Robin Hill Farms & Vineyard in Brandywine, Maryland. Wine slushies, tasty charcuterie boxes by Arlia Board Co., girl talk and vineyard photoshoots were just a few of the highlights we enjoyed. This was our first time visiting this vineyard, which I learned of a couple years ago. There are several other vineyards in the DMV, so today I’m highlighting a few of them to check out for the perfect covid friendly outing. If you check any of them out, please let me know by tagging me on Instagram @shalycetyson.

1 — Robin Hill Farm and Vineyards

Again, this spot was definitely a winner, and it’s easily accessible for those in the Southern Maryland area. They currently offer lawn seating, picnic tables with canopies and a covered patio with seating. In addition to their large selection of wines, they also feature live music and food trucks on Saturdays. Contact the vineyard to book a reservation.

2 — Romano Vineyard and Winery

This weekend is hubby’s birthday, so we’re going to check out this Brandywine, MD vineyard. It’s not far from Robin Hill, and they have live music and food trucks, too. This weekend they’re having Jamaican Country Kitchen, so I’m excited to get some curry chicken while enjoying a glass of red wine.

3 — Running Hare Vineyard

Located in Prince Frederick, Maryland, Running Hare Vineyard is still open, and featuring weekly events to include ladies nights, drive-in movies and more. Their Southern Maryland Biergarten and Friday Night Market featuring local vendors will kick off on July 31st. Also, this weekend their featuring camp out in the vineyard. Check out their Facebook page for more details.

4 — Potomac Point Winery

I planned a wedding here last Fall for one of my Sensational Soirees couples, and it’s a beautiful Northern Virginia gem. They are currently open for indoor and outdoor dining at reduced capacity and by reservation only. There are two types of reservations available: Bistro Service & Pre-order Picnic Service. They also feature weekly events.

5 — Morais Vineyards & Winery

This is another Northern Virginia beauty that is the perfect location for a wedding or relaxing Saturday. Morais Vineyards is currently operating under limited, temporary conditions due to COVID-19 and is open at all locations 1-6PM on Saturdays and Sundays for Curbside Pick Up.

6 — Stone Tower Winery

This Leesburg winery is launching their self-guided vineyard hike this weekend, and reservations can be made here. Learn more about this picturesque winery and their current offerings here.

7 — The Winery at Bull Run

The Winery at Bull Run is currently open 7 days a week from 11am - 7pm for outdoor seating. The Tasting Room is temporarily closed. The outside bar is open for all wine orders and a limited food menu is available. An additional bar is open on Saturdays and Sundays at Hillwood Park.

In the past, I had only visited Linganore Winecellars in the local area. However, the pandemic has certainly caused us to think outside of the box and explore new places, which honestly isn’t a bad thing. I look forward to discovering even more places in my backyard, and I hope you do, too. If you end up checking out one of these vineyards, I’d love to know. Share your cute photos by the vines with me on Instagram @shalycetyson.

Have a glowing day!
