How to Execute on Your 2023 Professional Goals

Earlier this week, we talked about personal goals, so now let’s shift gears to our professional goals. If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail, and 2023 is our Jordan year, so we are planning to win glow getters! With that said, you must identify your focus. In order to win, you have to be focused. For those of us who are multi-passionate, this sometimes presents a challenge. One thing I have realized is that while it's ok to be multi-passionate, you don't have to pursue all of your passions at one time. By intentionally focusing on 1 or 2 aligned things, it allows you to channel your energy more fully for better results rather splitting it amongst so many things for limited results. So right now, my focus is solely on content and community.

Once you’ve narrowed down your focus, it’s important to clearly outline your professional goals, how you plan to achieve them and who will hold you accountable. I’ll use one of my 2023 professional goals as an example to help you get started outlining your goals if your haven’t already:

Goal:

Define and implement consistency on my own terms. This means showing up weekly, consistently with value for my community.

How I plan to achieve this:

  • show up weekly as my authentic self and with value on Instagram (in my stories almost daily, 4+ in feed posts/reels per week that are intentional and not to meet a quota, host Instagram Lives that promote community engagement)

  • Implement a monthly content calendar, strategy and routines

  • Schedule weekly content creation days and quarterly photoshoots

  • Send out a weekly newsletter to motivate the glow getter gang and to share the latest content

  • Publish 2+ blog posts per week to build a library of quality content, tips and more that can be accessed on my website, instead of just on social media

  • Explore YouTube and TikTok in Quarter 3 to reach new glow getters

  • Co-host quarterly events with Love, Maaden, as this is an area where we both thrive and offers so much value to our community

  • Partner with brands that offer valuable products and services to me and my community

  • Have fun with the content I create and share my expertise

  • Rinse and repeat what works

Who will hold me accountable:

  • my accountability partner, who I meet with bi-weekly

  • my mentor, who I meet with monthly

  • my events partner, who I meet with bi-weekly

If you haven’t taken the time to break your goals down like this, take some time over the next week or 2 to do this, and then break it down into tasks you’ll implement in each quarter.

Now, you simply have to get going. No amount of planning will excuse you from actually doing the work. So let’s go, glow and get it!

Have a glowing day!
