12 Books I'm Reading This Year

I made a goal to read and finish at least 1 book per month this year. This has been a goal in previous years that I honestly have never met. However, that is changing this year! I’m keeping my word to myself, just like I keep my word to others. So I said I’m reading at least 12 books this year, and come December 31, 2021, I will have read 12 books. It’s I said what I said, and I’m doing what I said energy all year! Who’s with me?

I’m proud that I met my goal for January, and I’ll be finished my second book of the year ahead of schedule this month (thanks to Audible). This hasn’t been difficult like I thought it would be because 1) the books I’ve read so far are really good, and 2) I actually enjoy reading. I previously just lacked discipline in finishing the books I started. I fixed this problem though by reading a little bit everyday (usually at least 15 minutes a day).

If you are working on your 2021 reading list, here’s a list of 12 books I’m definitely reading this year. I honestly hope to read even more than 12, but I want to start with this achievable, yet somewhat of a challenge goal. If you wan’t to grab what I’m reading, I’ve made it super easy for you to do so. Simply click the photos below to grab these books.

1 — The Big Leap

I finished this last month, and it definitely lived up to the hype. It’s so good and is a total mindset shifter!

2 — Year of Yes

I’m currently listening to this on Audible, and I’m half way through. It’s so good so far, and I’ll share my final thoughts on Instagram when I’m finished.

3 — A Promised Land

I’ll be reading this on Audible, and once I’m done, I’ll buy the physical book. I really enjoy audio books read by the author. When I read Becoming, it felt like I was in the room with Michelle Obama having a one on one, so I think this will be similar. This is 29 hours, so it might take me a couple months for this one.

4 — Professional Troublemaker: The Fearfighter Manual

One of my good friends texted me this week to say she pre-ordered the book for me along with a ticket for the virtual book tour stop co-hosted by Myliek. Needless to say, I was very excited! This book had already caught my attention because I follow Luvvie and fighting fear is definitely something I could always use tools on.

5 — We Should All Be Millionaires

I pre-ordered this in January and was able to attend Rachel’s live training on planning your year like a millionaire. The training was everything, which is why I can’t wait to read this book. While I’m not a millionaire yet, I complete agree with Rachel that we should all be millionaires. I’m manifesting abundance in many areas and wealth is one of them.

6 — The 4 Agreements

It’s pretty obvious that I’m all for anything growing and glowing related, so this book caught my eye. I’ve heard nothing but good things about it, so looking forward to finding out for myself.

7 — The Good Neighbor

Eunique Jones Gibson highly recommended this book on Instagram awhile ago, so I grabbed it. Everyone loved Mr. Rogers, so I’m sure this will be a good read exploring his life and work.

8 — My Time With God

I love this devotional! Just like the title says, it is really helping me stay renewed in God’s presence daily.

9 — Influencer

While I refer to myself as more of a content creator/blogger rather than an influencer, I do operate in the marketing space from time to time, as I understand sharing (good things) is caring. I’ve heard good things about this book, so looking forward to learning something new to better add value to the glow getter gang.

10 — Get Out of Your Head

As soon as I saw stopping the spiral of toxic thoughts, I immediately added to cart.

11 — In the Company of Women

I love seeing/hearing of other women achieve business success, so I jumped at the chance to grab this coffee table book.

12 — Profit First

As an entrepreneur, I invest so much time into my business, so seeing a return on that invest is crucial. I’ve heard this book is the bomb, so looking forward to learning some new things.

So that’s my 12 books folks! Are any of these on your list, too? If so, hit the links above to grab them. Also, if you are looking to buy from a black owned bookstore, you can grab any of these title online here. Drop any other books on your list in the comments. Happy Reading!

Have a glowing day!
