The heart of my mission with the Shalyce Tyson brand is to create platforms and content for women to feel seen, motivated, connected and celebrated, as they live their lives and pursue their dreams.. Buy Black, Black Friday truly embodies that mission. What is Buy Black, Black Friday you say? It’s an epic Instagram Live showcase dedicated to black woman owned businesses, who we should support during and beyond the holidays. I started this in 2020, and it has been an honor to highlight over 60 businesses and counting, many of which I’ve purchased from or worked with in the past. Thanks to both the live and replay viewers, this event annually helps to expand the reach and sales of the participating businesses, and in turn exposes the viewers to amazing black businesses, products and services.

The 2023 Buy Black, Black Friday showcase will be held on Friday, November 24th, so save the date. Each business will be featured in 5 minute increments, which makes this a fun and fast, yet worthwhile experience for participants and those tuning in. Submissions are now open! In conjunction with the live, a digital guide will also be available for everyone to access the websites and more for all of the featured businesses. The brilliant entrepreneurs, creators and makers in the black community have so much to offer. It is my hope that the showcase and guide serves as a glimpse of that, and may we forever hold black businesses in high regard.
